SHS Letter to Class of 2020

Dear Class of 2020,

Springdale High School seniors, we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. We write to you today with exciting news about how we are going to celebrate commencement activities! We are pleased to announce that Springdale High School will air a Graduation Special on Saturday, May 30, at 10:00 AM. The Graduation Special will celebrate each of you in a way that has never been done before. This one of a kind graduation special will allow you and your loved ones the opportunity to view the celebration together, or from places all around the world, on all district social media outlets. During the time the celebration is airing, we encourage you to wear your cap and gown and tune in for our heartfelt tribute to you, Class of 2020!

We realize that a traditional graduation ceremony is something that many of you have looked forward to for a very long time. The message from Dr. Jim Rollins, Superintendent of Springdale Public Schools is, “We are holding open the option of trying to have a traditional graduation later in the summer once the health issues begin to taper off and the restrictions that have guided the address of the COVID-19 virus are lifted, if in fact they are lifted.” Please know that we acknowledge the difficulty and disappointment you have experienced in the last month as those senior activities that you so badly wanted to participate in have been delayed or canceled. The Graduation Special is our way to provide you with a one of kind celebration in your honor.

Leading up to the release of the Springdale High School Graduation Special we will celebrate the “12 Days of Graduation.” This unique countdown will begin Monday, May 18th, and include 12 themed days. Each day we want you to capture your themed image and share it on social media. Springdale Schools will also be accepting submissions to posts on district and school social media sites. Stay tuned for more information on the release of the “12 Days of Graduation” themes and activities and details about picking up graduation cords, diplomas, and Chromebook returns. We look forward to counting down with you, highlighting your senior year, honoring your many accomplishments, and celebrating you! We are proud of the Class of 2020!

Sincerely,

Jason Jones

Principal
